Reclaiming Lives, Restoring Families: Five Decades of Compassionate Recovery.

Established in 1969 by the late Dr. Stella Dalton AM, Wayback is a trusted charitable rehabilitation service dedicated to supporting individuals overcoming drug and alcohol dependence. For over five decades, we have specialised in assisting those whose lives have been impacted by the justice system, imprisonment, and family breakdown, providing a compassionate path toward stability and recovery.

Our Approach to Treatment

We recognise that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Our clinicians utilise a diverse range of evidence-based strategies, including:
  • Abstinence-based programs - for long-term sobriety.
  • Harm minimisation strategies - to reduce immediate risks.
  • Pharmacotherapy treatments - including the supervised prescription of Methadone, Buprenorphine (Buvidal) and Suboxone when clinically indicated.

Community-Based Recovery

Unlike traditional facilities that isolate clients from the real world, Wayback operates on a community-integration model. We believe that recovery is most effective when practiced in a real-world setting.
  • Residential Housing: Clients reside in fully furnished houses located throughout the Western Sydney region.
  • Gender-Specific Support: We provide dedicated accommodation for both men and women.
  • Skill Building: By living in a community environment, clients develop the practical life skills necessary to navigate their dependence while preparing for independent living.

Holistic Care

Our team is comprised of experienced health professionals who bring a deep sense of empathy and clinical expertise to their work. We take a holistic approach to recovery, ensuring that every client receives the individualised care, understanding, and professional guidance they need to reclaim their future.
